FAQ

Straight Answers to Your Roofing Questions

After three generations on Southern California rooftops, we’ve heard every question there is. Here are honest answers to the ones we get most. Don’t see yours? Call us — a real person answers, 24 hours a day.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. 3G Tres Generaciones Roofing Co. is a licensed California roofing contractor — License #1059685. You can verify our license anytime through the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) website. We’re happy to provide proof of licensing and insurance with any estimate.
We do. Roof emergencies — storm damage, active leaks — don’t keep business hours, so neither do we. Call (323) 217-9406 any time, day or night.
It depends on the size of your roof, the material (shingle, tile, flat, or metal), the pitch, and the condition of what’s underneath. Rather than quote a misleading range, we offer free, no-obligation estimates: we inspect your roof in person and give you a clear, itemized price. No surprises, no pressure
This is the question where integrity matters most. Many companies push replacements because they’re more profitable. We’ll tell you the truth: if a repair will genuinely solve your problem, that’s what we’ll recommend. If your roof is truly at the end of its life, we’ll show you why — with photos.
All of them. Asphalt shingles, clay and concrete tile, flat roof systems (torch-down and TPO), and metal roofing. Complete knowledge of every roofing system is exactly what’s been passed down through our three generations — it’s the foundation of our family business.
Most residential re-roofs take 1 to 3 days once work begins, depending on size, material, and how much tear-off is involved. Tile and metal projects can take longer. We’ll give you a clear timeline with your estimate and keep you informed every day we’re on site.
With proper installation and basic maintenance: asphalt shingles typically last 20–30 years, tile roofs 50+ years, flat roof systems 15–25 years, and metal roofs 40–70 years. Installation quality is the single biggest factor — which is why experience matters.
Yes — always. We’ll inspect your roof, explain what we find in plain language, and give you a written, itemized estimate at no cost and with no obligation.
We’re based in Los Angeles (South L.A.) and serve homeowners and businesses throughout Los Angeles County and Southern California.
Watch for: missing, cracked, or curling shingles; broken or slipped tiles; granules collecting in gutters; water stains on ceilings or walls; sagging areas; and daylight visible in the attic. If you spot any of these — or if your roof is 15+ years old and hasn’t been inspected — give us a call.
We’ll document the damage thoroughly with photos and a detailed written assessment you can submit to your insurer, and we’re glad to walk your adjuster through our findings on site.
Three generations of roofing expertise in one family — a grandfather who started in the 1970s, a father with 30+ years of mastery, and a licensed third generation carrying it forward. That heritage comes with something you can’t buy: pride in the family name on every roof we build. Integrity and quality aren’t marketing words for us; they’re the inheritance.
